Sparks Charity Winter Ball

Updated: Jan 17, 2020

On December 5th, we attended the Sparks Charity Winter Ball, at the Rosewood Hotel. The event aimed to raise funds, in support of vital leukaemia treatment research, replacing or partially aiding the current treatment procedures.

Being a charity, with an emphasis on child health, Sparks has done a tremendous job, on the night, in raising awareness of the terrifying experience that parents of a child, with leukaemia, have to go through. We were fortunate to share a table with the parents of Lilly, who was diagnosed with leukaemia, but has since made a full recovery and has now resumed a full and vibrant life, that any child leads. Their story was both terrifying and inspiring, showing that even a deadly disease like leukaemia can be overcome with great resilience coupled with ground-breaking advances in medical treatment.

With a humble pledge of £450, ABI hopes to contribute to the wonderful research that Sparks are helping sponsor. We look forward to seeing advances in treatments, in the near future, that will ease the process of treatment and recovery for the most vulnerable of the leukaemia victims - children and their families.

We encourage everyone to familiarise themselves with the wonderful work that Sparks do and consider making a pledge by following the link: https://www.sparks.org.uk.

Thank you!
